Where as the summer gone!!!!

Katherine flips over the Cottage Inn. She is one of our yoga instructors form Grand Rapids who visited us to attend the wedding of a friend on the island. She refreshed our memories of a prefect head stand technique. Thanks Katherine we miss our yoga class at Expressions of Grace in Grand Rapids.

Joe's mom dresses him up for the 4th of July. Thanks to Auntie Keary for the head dress.

Joe takes a fancy to one of the other dogs in the show. He really likes blondes.

Joe Cocker and Marge participated in the Dog and Pony show. Joe was the only dog who preformed for the judges but the dogs with costumes won prizes.

Summer sun rise taken by Rich as he walks the dog in the morning. I am still waking up at this time of day!

This is Father Marquette in the fog! I guess that's how I feel about where the summer went. The weather this summer has been fantastic and the forecast is looking great for the coming weeks.

Meet Blaze a Mackinac Island pony

During the winter festival last weekend on the island, Leanne and Jill stopped in front of the Cottage Inn on Market St. for this photo op. This is a great way to spend a winter day on Mackinac.

A few days later I went down to the Mission area of Mackinac Island to see Blaze in his winter coral. He spends his days with his pony friend enjoying winter on Mackinac. He comes right to the fence when you call his name, I'm sure he was looking for a treat but I didn't have permission to feed him.

Let it snow....

This is a picture of Father Marquette this morning as it snowed. We are excited to report that we have 2 or more inches of fresh snow for this weekends cross country skiing post card rally.

Someone has already been out to test the new snow even before it has been groomed for skiing. We are looking down South Bike Trail heading toward Arch Rock. There was a great base of snow when I last went skiing a few days ago so this fresh layer should make for great skiing. I'm sure the groomers will be out soon to prepare the trails.
